Looks like a great bargain, but I don't know much about video camera specs, and if this is a decent one or not?

I can see no indication of what the video specs are ....... which is a huge omission IMO ....... and it makes me wonder why .....

Before Xmas last there was a similar unit for sale at €100 which was capable of HD video -- 1920x1080

If this does HD at a reasonable frame rate then I guess it would be worth considering.
I don't see anything about what storage it comes with either

The link to the specs is below the image: http://www.traveler-service.de/popups/DV-550_HD_uk_popup/index.php, but it's still not clear what resolution it actually has. On the top of the page it says 1280x720 and in the text 1920x1080. It probably is the former...

In the Technical Data from that second link it gives the video resolution as 1920x720

Is the Irish Aldi offer definitely linked to that DV-550 ?

I cannot see how to be absolutely sure it is the same product that is offered here ...... yes I am rather cynical about vague offers

IMO, for the price, it is good, even at x720 resolution. I would want to be sure it is the same specced item though .... It comes with very little memory so a memory card would appear to be a necessary buy.
