Any thoughts on this, the Dublin of my youth, in the 90's seemed to be on the whole safer and more fun than the edgy, obnoxious vibe that seems to permeate the streets especially around Henry St / Abbey St after dark.

Don't get me wrong, you can still have a great night out here in the right places with the right company however what used to be an earthy, friendly city is now similar to London in it's coldness.

Yes, people have become selfish, self centred, inconsiderate fuck wits with a sense of entitlement dripping off them .. but as this is AH ..

This all used to be fields round here.

That's Athenry you're thinking of. During the boom.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I find Londoners very welcoming. Dublin is the polar opposite in my opinion.

    Yeah the whole city stinks!

I used to love the place but now I avoid it at all costs.

Even walking down the street I feel unsafe and I am always looking around feeling like I maybe mugged or attached...................horrible poverty/deathly vibe I get from it especially around Dame Street!

    Hate it........................

When I'm walking down the street, I feel like I'm surrounded by farm people. And indeed we are - to the Europeans and the world. You know...primitive people.

No I am totally serious. I worked in the city centre when I was 15 until I was 27. I loved the place. Can't face it anymore.........it scares the crap out of me.

Its a very aggressive place in my opinion.

I sometimes have to visit the courts and I do **** myself walking down along there by the river.

I find it very intimidating and unsafe. My once favorite place in the world no longer is.......quite sad really.

I wouldn't call it dangerous after dark either. Okay sure, some of thep lacse outside of town aren't nice but I never get worried strolling around after a pub at 3am or so.
