Earth Hour!

So, who's doing it? Turn off all your lights and other electricals (tv, computer, phones etc) for 1 hour tonight, from 8;30 to 9;30 GMT. If you're watching the match, at least switch everything else besides the TV off.

Will you do it? Why/why not? Will you grab some candles to roast mini marshmallows on, and a guitar to have a singsong for an hour :P.

Nah the idea is to switch off anything that uses electricity - whether mains or battery operated .

No. To spite the knit-your-own-lentils brigade, I'm going to turn on every light in the house until Dublin Airport complains I'm confusing the pilots and turn on the oven, microwave, sounds, heating, iron, washing machine, dryer, air conditioning and electric toothbrush just to flip the bird to.....'the man' :cool:

microwave ...check
oven...check
games pc...check
laptop...check
heating...check
lighting WITH 500W bulbs so my house can be seen from space ...CHECK
turn on air conditioning to fight with the oil heating...check
open windows so the ac and heating can really chug it out...check
music, tv, 7.1 sound, dvd, ps3...check
deplete batteries for no fuking reason what so ever...check
eat as much meat as possible so even the cows were consuming energy...check


laughing my ass off knowing some greenie is sitting in the dark with a beeswax candle thinking he is making a difference....priceless
