Apple tv and Air video

    Is it possible to play non apple format videos through apple tv via Airvideo on an iPad. *When I try this I only get sound and no picture.*
    Air video converts the videos in apple format to play on the iPad therefore it should work with AirPlay. Is this correct. *
    Is there something wrong with mine or is this normal. ( no jailbreaks and both devices up to date)*

    You need to be running the beta version of AirPlay Server at the moment. The latest release officially doesn't work.

    It works really well. The only downside I can see is that it only carries stereo audio, but it's not too much of an issue for me.

    Are u converting live or converting and then playing your videos. I find it buffers and sometimes crashes with live converting.*
    Not too up on the audio end but I have surround sound through the optical out. It seems to work fine.*

    I'm using live conversion. It works flawlessly when streaming from Mac to iPad and then to Apple TV.

    When I use live conversion to stream from Mac downstairs to IPad when I am upstairs it doesn't always work as well so you may have a range issue.

    I have an iphone and an ipad. I am able to use airplay on my ipad but the air play symbol symbol is missing from the iphone app.
    All working from the same server etc. all up to date
    any ideas

    I should add that air play works with other apps as well.

    I was having the same trouble only audio be able to play via atv2

    I updated to 4.3 on my iPad that's when I had this trouble, I went back to 4.2.1 all is great again!!

    What firmware are you guys on?
