i had the rear wheel of my road bike repaiered a while back , but the repair was not a sucess at a local bike shop. i had to purschase a new rear wheel from the same shop. its done approx 800km and the wheel has failed, feels like bearing failuere:eek::mad: .

what would you advise as course of action..... does the shop have to reeplace my wheel or i am i caught forking out again

Bearings should not go after 500km. Take it back to the shop - if it is something like that they should repair or replace it under warranty. If it's something caused by an outside force/object (such as damage caused by a pothole) you may have less of an argument, as that would not be normal wear and tear

it would have been a cheap wheel as it is for a winter bike. it was out in the rain a good few times but it has never been potholed or anything. im in the market for a new 1500 euro road bike , so he will be given the chance to come to some sort of arrangement that i can live with. i am on the large size but surely you would expect a few thousand k on it.:eek:

the orginal wheel had new cones and bearings fitted ... but hub had been pitted so it dident work

dropped the bike in this morning. mechanic/owner checked rear wheel. he said it sounds like chippeed/broken bearing and is any easy fix ?

surely the hub would be gone after that and im gona need a new wheel ??
