Does anyone know what these old cast plates mean?
    They're dotted around the town.
Example; the one on church street reads "F.P. 20ft"

Also on the first southbound exit into Arklow off the n11
there is a castellated wall on the right on the slip ramp
with descending numbers on it. Can anyone explain
    what this represents?

Could be direction signage to Gaolbreak 10k tomorrow?? Here's last year's link:

Wild guesses to both - - could the F.P. refer to "Fire Point" - i.e. water hydrant?

The castle with numbers at junction 20 has always intrigued me too - I always assumed it was some form of artwork with the numbers counting down in metres to the actual roundabout, but I'd love to hear the real meaning. :)
