White jeans!

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on white jeans. Saw a girl wearing a lovely pair of white skinnies today and they looked amazing, however, she was about 17 and about a size 6 whereas I am 31 and a size 10 and have fears of looking a bit like mutton dressed as lamb :D.

I am just looking for alternatives to dark coloured jeans as I am sick of my pub uniform of dark skinnies/boots/top.

    Any thoughts?

As long as you're not beat into them I don't see why not.

You know what limo shoes are? Well IMO white jeans are the equivalent of that. They look nice, but they're not very practical are they?

At 17 she's (hopefully) not going into pubs, where of course you WILL get a pint of guiness spilled on your snow white jeans within 2 minutes of walking in the door.

Also not for wearing around people in general who will knock into you and get them dirty.

Or for sitting down ANYWHERE as they will end up grubby too.

And every time I think of white jeans I think of Liz Hurley in her uniform of white boot cuts, strappy top, tan belt and boots and now there's a woman who is mutton dressed as lamb.

Having said all that I have a pair and I love them!:D
And trust me I'm faaaaar from a size 6

Find a style that suits, as with any jeans, and go for it i say
Skinnies are not for me but bootcut or slightly flared shave about 2 stone off me :D

I love my white skinny jeans, I usually team them with heels and a cute top, similar to this look.

I think they could show imperfections quite easily, I'm 20 and a size 8 I've seen quite a few women of all ages wearing them. 31 is not old at all especially for trying new trends It's sad that when women hit their late twenties they become scared of being mutton dressed as lamb. You could try bootcut, If you like the skinnies maybe wear a tunic with it!

I am 41 and am looking to buy a nice pair of white jeans for the Summer.

I have lost almost 2 stone since January and feel great and look great too. (Size 10 in jeans!)

I will wear what I want and **** the begrudgers! I have my own style and know what suits me and what does not.

By the way, I think of Liz Hurley too when I think of white jeans - and I think they look fab on her.

Don't be so quick to judge or put other people down...it is hard enough to get on in life, without people bringing you down.

    Each to their own.

I'm 30, size 12 and thinking of buying a pair. Have seen nice bootcut versions recently in Monsoon and Savida.
Just watching a H&M ad on tv now and they're all wearing them!

Thanks for all the replies, that outfit that Georgia Jagger is wearing is fab, I would love to try something like that (with a less revealing top). Liz Hurley is who I think of too when I think of white jeans and I think she is very muttony :) That's why I was thinking of skinnies rather than boot cut. Now, has anyone seen any nice white skinnies in the shops?

White does the counter opposite to slim, adds mass if you still feel confident enough to do it go for it.

I think you should go for it OP!! My mother is in her 40s and wear (bootcut) white jeans - nothing wrong with it. She looks far from mutton. (imo).

Anyone know where I might get a while pair of skinnies (ankle length please) that aren't see-through? Most people who I've seen wearing white skinnies, you can see their underwear through the jeans (even white underwear), don't want my knickers on show lol!!

    Thanks!!

Absolutely go for it nothing says summer more to me than getting my white skinnies out.. Summer wouldnt be the same without them imo!!! I think they look great with a cute top and pumps, bought a cropped denim jacket in H&M yesterday so cant wait to wear that with them. My last pair were from Topshop but that was last summer and i find the white does really go off after a lot of washes so seeing the sun come out the past few days i went off in search of a new pair. I did purchase a pair from RI but exchanged them as I found there was a lot of material in the legs if that makes sense as in they really bulked up around the knees although that may be because I have short legs!! Eventually I purchased a pair off ASOS Petite jeans range which I love as I always find they are the perfect length for me... Anywayyyy they were down to €31.49 which I thought was a great bargain!! Looking forward to my delivery already :D

I actually love white skinnies once one has the figure to carry them off. I think the age is irrelevant really. Only skinnies though I hate white bootcut or straight leg!

Saw some white jeans in Oasis this week, meant to try them on but did not have time. They are bootcut's.

Seriously ladies, if you have the figure to carry something off, go for it. It is all about how you wear it. I spent my 20's and 30's not wearing a skirt, or not wearing short sleeves, etc, etc because I was self concious and worried about what other people think and boy I regret it now.

It is all about the confidence.

Either straight leg or skinnies anything but bootcut. They are so dated looking.

Regardless of what they may or may not do to your figure, I always think white jeans look very cheap and tacky.

I like white jeans and have worn them last summer and think they look great. Can be dressed up with heels for night or pumps/sandles for day. To be honest nice to have a change from dark jeans in the sunny weather. Go for it.
