    With many thanks to Slade_X and Redshift for allowing this link to the music forums were i have just started a thread.

    hopefully the thread will 'get off the pad' so to speak!:)
    it seemed many on the STS threads need an outlet to their emotions, but it is a Science forum so we have to restrain ourselves at times!
    so go on post your songs of celebration!!!

    Hi NoQuarter, eilejh is actually a woman who normally is very rational but goes a bit ga ga when it comes to all things Shuttle.:)

    Clln realises that *woman* and *Rational* is a contradiction in terms :pac:

    Never liked the sound in that video. The countdown isn't a real one, and the sound has been edited to bits.

    Prefer this one

    I should have asked for a lock after post #1,as i had hoped that people with no big interest in Spaceflight but could in some way find a relevent song to even one thing that Awe-inspired them about space would post,as i feared though the thread in the music forum has fell way out of the number 1 spot!:)

    follow the link in post #1 here to view other peoples choice's.

    excuse a bit of an 'in joke' against Lord Lucan who refused to post one in the music forums, just because he got to see in person the Launch of STS-129 Atlantis, stubborn LL!:p.

    alg_shuttle.jpg

    I have chosen Lord Lucans song for him as he is totally devoid of creativity!:pac:

    I sort of like this one, takes me way back to when I did a bit of flying many years ago. It always comes back to me when they show footage of the Shuttle for some reason.

    Utopia by Goldfrapp. Some of the instrumental aspects of it coupled with the synthetic operatic voice has a 2001: Space Odyssey vibe to it.

    And so Manned Spaceflight is 50 years old today, and since Vostok 1 launched 333 other manned crafts have launched carrying people in his footsteps.

    Yuri was a man of many talents and it is a little known fact that he was quite the songwriter.

    He wrote this little number during his ascent into orbit,here it is covered by some bloke i have never heard of;

    and he wrote this as he was parachuting back to Earth,What a Man!!!!!!

    Here it is covered by a bunch of nobodies! :pac:
