Does anyone know exactly what the position is regarding VRT on commercials? Apparently there have been some significant increases in recent times. Thanks in advance.

I believe that vrt for commercials under 3.5t gvw is now 13.5% of the open market sale price. Thats a big difference from €50 in the past. This includes popular vans such as Transits, Transporters etc which are under 3.5t gvw.

Clever decision there by the Government, thats just the help Irish business needs right now

A mate bought a 01 Transit with 100,000 miles into the south last week vrt was around 300 euros he said, was told depends how much the van is worth, older vans are around 300 euro up but newer ones will be dearer , 3.5 ton up are still 50 quid I think but I stand to be corrected.

VRT on category C commercials is still €50, but it's going up to €200 next month.

What qualifies as a category C commerical has been tightened up, but if the vehicle leaves the factory as a van, then it qualifies as category C.

Some differing information coming from different manufacturer's on the status of car derived commercials like the Kuga and LandCruiser vans.

    Can this be right??

Theres something up there. I had a look and the OMSP is coming up as €20k , they arent even that new. Theres an error somewhere along the food chain.

Either way a Partner should be still on the nominal rate for commercials.
