Becoming a teacher with a Social Science degree - what to do?!

I've recently completed a Social Science degree in UCD, and I now feel like I'd love to go into secondary school teaching.
I'm wondering whether there are any subjects I could teach in secondary that this degree would facilitate? - I didn't grow up in Ireland and didn't go to school here, so I'm not sure if social studies is an offered subject.
If not, would I basically have to do an entire degree again in say, English/History, or could I go into a teaching HDip with my current degree?
    Thanks!

Another degree would be probably most straight forward.
There is a social studies section in the Applied Leaving Cert., but it would not be enough in most schools to fill a timetable.
