My gf was charging her iPod Touch from the laptop over the weekend.
She went off for a couple of hours and when she went to eject it the screen was cracked.

Now, she might be lying to me and actually did it herself by accident but just wondering if anyone has every experienced this?

She brought it back to the shop and they said they wouldnt replace it. They did mention that it might have overheated causing the screen to crack but they still wouldnt replace it.

Extremely unlikely unless the glass was exceptionally cold/stressed or had an under lying hair line crack.

Just for those who call shenanigans.. This happened my glasses a few years back. I left them on the locker, went to sleep, big crack in the morning. Brought them to be replaced under warranty, dubious assistant took them and sent them off. He rang me a week later to pick up the new glasses which were back with the lens replaced. I went down the following day to pick them up, he opens it up, and they had cracked again in the very same place. The shop assistant admitted then that he'd thought I was making it up :) So it does happen, in my case, the frame was too tight for the glass, they replaced it again and didn't tighten it as much and it's never cracked since. Does her laptop run hot and was the ipod sitting on it? The overheating is a possibility.
