2FM 1997 Year Mix

After my recent success with finding the name of a tune, I’m back looking for a full DJ mix. As the title says it was on 2FM and from what I can remember it was a mash up/megamix of the year. There are loads of well know tunes in it, 666-bomba, novy-v-eniac-superstar,Dario g-carnival de Paris, double 99-rip grove. Also a jingle about being so cool you need to listen to it in the fridge, unfortunately I cut all the DJ out.

I have about 30 minutes from it, but that’s from a tape onto a mini disc and into a MP3. I’ve uploaded the bit I have to mediafire, but am not sure if I’m allowed post it here? I have looked on RTEs website and to get an audio track from the archives its silly money.

    Thanks for any help!

Sorry mate can't help you with that, but I was just wondering whats 'Silly money' in pound notes? I've always wanted to get a proper copy of the Prodigy 94/95 new years gig off them.
    Cheers

Best bet is to get in contact with Mr Spring.
He has been doing the 2FM gig for many a year and would probably have access to the mix. and might replay it ?
He does the sessions friday and saturday nights.

No worries thanks, silly money is around €30 or so. There was a list on the archive site of prices and I remember around €30 for audio and €50-60 for video. I love the prodigy myself, was only 12-13 at that time, was it a good gig?

Thanks, ill see if hes on facebook so.
I THINK it could have been Tony Fenton or a Tony, he had one of those voices I still remember to this day. I done a quick google and it said Tony used to play DMC mixes, so maybe its one of them

Cheers. It sounded good anyway... I'm around the same age as you, I had to ask to stay up and tape it :D Still have the tape but would like a better quality version. Its all Jilted and Experience Tunes so if thats what you're into you'll like it.

Just thinking now I may have downloaded it off someone a while back onto a diff comp. I'll have a root and stick it up if i can find it.

You could always mail fenton at Today fm, but he'll prob send you back to square one (archives) I can't imagine he plays those mixes in the car nowadays

The good or now bad old days of taping stuff from radios with poor sound and jingles and the news breaking them up. I have a few live gigs and one or two on tapes somewhere. It’s a shame the prodigy never done proper live CDs, most of the gigs I heard where from tapes I got in borderline records on the quays in town.

The proper prodigy as I’d say, before they started using drum kits and guitars, also when they done rare live tunes like gabba, rock `n`roll etc, now it’s mostly tracks you can get on albums with maybe a remix or extended version.

Cool thanks man, always great to have more gigs. If you need any tunes I have loads of old school on my drive.

Good idea, but as you say he’ll likely point me to the archives, hopefully Mr.Spring has some information
