I,ve come to notice that many dubliners are moveing to places like drogheda, simply because houses are cheaper there, I would like to ask could you live outside dublin or would you be too embarrassed.

*This question is only for those liveing in dublin or those who wer raised in Dublin and lived there as an adult then moved away.

Well, i mean somewhere with a big enough social life. But not big enough that everyone(some people) treats each other like common muck.

Im from dublin, a proud dub. But when you move away you realise how good it is to get away from the few maggots that come with any city.

i lived in drogheda for a while last year, everyone knows each other, and it seems friendly.....but it was the most boreing place i can imagine.....phone reception sucked...roads wer terrible.......even in the town everywhere there are lopsided hills........in Dublin we have flat pavement...

I am from Dublin. I have never lived outside Dublin. I just can't see how someone could find it embarrassing to live outside Dublin. Inconvenient or exhausting maybe... but embarrassing?

I know what you mean OP, there's nothing but queer mountain folk past the borders of Dublin. Best not to go wandering round those parts.

embarrassing in the sense that, the person is liveing outside dublin as they cant afford to live in dublin....some chose to live outside dublin...to me...these are strange people...but are entitled to be so..

Maybe you can explain why it would be "embarassing" to live outside dublin?

The world does not revolve around dublin.

No, I'm not from dublin ...strangely I don't feel any remorse or embarassment. :pac:

The world does not revolve around Dublin, but ireland most certainly does..............why would one be embarassed to live outside Dublin, well to put it simply, Dublin is the capital therefore everything here must be/is better ...........meaning dubliners have a better standard of liveing, which {and i dont mean this to offend it is just a fact i must state} means we are better then those who take 2nd best, and go live in the middle of nowhere, in some estate , squeezed in between a few farms.

What's with all these fcuking trolls making stupid threads. Can't these just be deleted by mods straightaway instead of clogging up AH with their retarded drivel?

You poor kid, you obviously haven't seen enough of the world yet to realise Dublin is a complete and utter kip. Inner city Dublin is a disgusting place riddled with drugs...not to mention the drug wars in the many suburbs...

Of all the counties in Ireland, Dublin people are seen as the most unfriendly so thank fcuk so many are afraid to leave the place and don't infest other parts of the country.

The areas which have seen the largest migration of Dubs within Ireland are (for obvious reasons) those where our Prisons are located such as Castlerea and Portlaoise, as families move to be closer to their incarcerated members.

Speak to anyone from these areas and you'll quickly find out how they feel about having a family of Jackeens living next door!

    lol. This is very silly.
    Well done.
