If the numbers on the speedo showing mileage are uneven does this mean it has been clocked ?

not necessarily, they sometimes look uneven when they are coming up on a 'milestone'.

about to roll over a few zeros to reveal xx,000 etc.

what type car is it? ive a starlet with 155000 miles the numbers arent perfectly straight but i assume thats from the car being 24 yearls old and the odometer starting to show its age

The best way to verify mileage is through the service history.

My fiesta just went over 11000 (well 111000 but the odometer is only 5 digits :P ) and the numbers arent exactly even.
