Anyone shed any light on this please? My internet is not working at all today except for wireless. I had a mobile data widget on my front page which i would manually turn off and on from time to time to save battery but trying to listen to the radio this morning i noticed there is no data connection, no E, H, G etc and no arrows. I have been in touch with my operator and all is fine their end. I go Menu/Wireless and Networks/Mobile network and it's ticked, I have no data quota issues etc so haven't a clue what the issue is. I downloaded quite a few apps last night and maybe one of those has harmed something in my system. Anyone any thoughts on what may be the problem, I am rooted 2.3 Leedroid. Cheers!

Rebooting is the first course of action for anyone using any technology that goes wonky i would have thought to be honest.

uninstall the apps you installed and reboot the phone to make sure it wasn't one of them.

The way a lot of these widgets work is by renaming your APN to turn off mobile data. Some are buggy and don't seem to be able to set it back the way it was. I would suggest removing the widget and checking the name on your APN to confirm it is correct. You might notice it has a leading underscore or something. Failing that, delete the APN and set it up again.

By coincidence I also have rooted LeeDroid 2.3d and a settings Widget I know does work is Widgetsoid. It's free and better than a lot of the paid ones.

Cool, im using the one from settings that is on the phone so i dont think it could be that although i did download 'extended controls' last night too which might have thrown it a wee bit. How do i check the name on my APN by the way, i dont really follow on that. Thanks a mill.

It's under Settings, Wireless and Networks, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names.

    Right

I followed this guys instructions http://www.jayceooi.com/2010/09/03/how-to-enable-3g-data-connection-on-android-htc-hd2/

    and this hasn't worked either.

That isn't going to help you. The APN setting is specific to your mobile operator and needs to be correct. What network are you on?

I might add that Extended Controls is almost certainly the culprit here. It did exactly as you described when I tried it.

Well it looks like I was right about extended controls! Don't delete it. I suggest creating a new APN and making it active. Once you're working then delete it.

Not on O2 so can't be sure of the settings. A quick google suggests this might be correct. http://community.o2online.ie/t5/Android/Nexus-One-Android-APN-Settings/td-p/131907

Maybe someone else on O2 can post what they have?

Thanks for all the help. It says that one of those is a Desire which i have so is it just a case of copying everything into the new one i create (even servers etc). It says the name there is internetapndroid, wonder is that correct, or specific to a widget/app that person uses.

Looks like this has just started happening with me.

I'm not picking up any data connection whatsoever.
I went as far as factory resetting my phone.

Under "Wireless & networks" in settings it continuously says "Turning on".
I'm with Meteor although the phone was bought unlocked from clove.co.uk.

I can't really see anything only that the unit may now be defective. Is there any way of debugging this issue?
