Scenic Cutting out

    Hi,

I have a 2004 Renault Scenic II Auto and recently having a problem with the car stalling after stopping at lights and then cutting out when about to move off when lights change. Car can be in Drive, foot on brake and then off brake, onto accelerator and cuts out.
This has been getting progressively worse over the last two weeks.
This only happens while car is still cold, and have to stop at lights within a couple of minutes driving. Although sometimes happens just after starting as well.
When it happens, it can take between 1 and 4 times of trying to pull away again - it starts fine, just cuts out when try to accelerate.

A search on Renault forums suggested a TDC / Crankshaft sensor needed cleaning. I've tried this with no improvement.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

    Thanks.

This is a common issue on the Renaults. if you have no malfunction light on then its usually caused by a build up of oil residue in the throttle body. The snag is that the throttle body is arkward to get to, especially on the scenic.
