launcher and htc sense weather widget - help

    hi
    i have a unrooted htc desire phone.
    i am trying different launcher as i am bored with htc home screen and its bottom dock.

    i have tried golauncher, launcher pro and helauncher.
    they all give different variations.
    i have couple of queries:

    i cant use the htc sense weather widget with other launchers. why?
    i can't get the wifi and 3g on/off switch which is available in sense launcher. when i goto widgets i dont have settings listed. the power control does not have 3g but does have wifi in it.
    will using launchers consumer more battery/cpu?
    any good launcher suggestion on a unrooted phone?

    If you use a different launcher you wont be able to use HTC widgets. They need the framework in the Sense launcher to work. There are alternatives on the market such as Beautiful Widgets and LauncherPro pro version has Sense style replacements for Friendstream,Contacts and a few others.

    Different launchers usually save battery & cpu usage.Sense is very heavy on the system for what it is really.
    I personally use the paid Launcher Pro cause I have the replacement widgets but its ma matter of personal preference. That ADW and Go all have different things going for them.

    I use Launcher Pro too. Great launcher. I haven't noticed any difference in the battery.
