    Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of booking a birthday weekend away for a group of girls from Wales (mixed ages) somewhere in Ireland on the weekend of 19th and 20th August. My travel options are quite limited so it would either have to be a flight into Dublin or the ferry into Rosslare. I'm leaning towards the ferry at the moment, so where would you recommend for a lively but traditional Irish weekend. Don't want to do clubs and bars, would much prefer small but lively pubs. Doesn't have to be in a city or town, just as long as there are a few good pubs for us to crawl around! :D
Have looked at Waterford as it's not that far away from the port, but not sure how many traditional pubs there are there. Want to come and have a bit of fun and meet the locals! :D
Any further inland and it would mean having to hire a car over there to get around. Any recommendations would be fab!

    Michelle x

Wexford town? Not a bad spot and if you're only there for a couple of nights there are plenty of bars etc. Plus it's only up the road from the ferry.

You could combine it with a decent spa hotel, there are a few around the area.

I would recommend Kinsale in Co Cork - great bars, restaurants and lots of b/bs and hotels to choose from

check out www.fastnetline.com who have ferries from Swansea direct to Cork or alternatively fly from Manchester to Cork with Aer Lingus - port and airport only 20 mins from Kinsale - great craic!!
