350D a decent upgrade?

    Hey guys,

Ok, I'm getting sick and tired of lugging around the brick that is my 10D. It's huge, it's old and frankly it's annoying me. Plus I bought a Tamron 17-200mm lens which is awesome but added together they weigh over 1kg!

So, with that in mind (and also that I'm not flash with cash right now) would a 350D be a decent upgrade for me? I've spotted one 2nd hand in berminghams with 18-55mm kit lens for 229. I'd possibly sell the 18-55 and try get a 50mm 2nd hand with the money. I have the 17-200, like I said and a 35-80mm, if needs be.

I mostly like shooting landscapes and night shots, but right now I'm not shooting anything cos my camera bugs me so much.

    Any and all recommendations, please.

Ps I didn't put this in the 'what camera' thread because... well I didn't want it to get lost, and it's a specific upgrade question. But mods, if it suits there better, feel free to move it. Cheers. :)

Most combinations will hit the kilo Mark or more. Apart from the lightest dslrs and a 50mm.

For a little bit more you could go for a 400 or 450D, body only. I see them all the time on adverts for pretty cheap. I'd hold out until I had a bit more cash if I were you.

Not much of a difference, if any, between the 10d and the 350d. If I was you I'd save and try and get a 450d or a 40d, and just go to the gym and work those neck muscles :D

The 350D is lighter and has pretty much the same sensor as the 30D.
Coming from a 10D the 350 won't disappoint but compared to it's younger siblings the tiny LCD is an issue.

You'll miss the rear wheel however.

350D is pretty old at this stage, so if you're complaining that the 10D is old....

You should be able to get a 400D/450D or 40D pretty cheaply, and you'd be better off :)
