Problems with HDTV HDMI Port

I have a Hisense 19' (I think?) and recently I think the HDMI port is broken, because it will not recongize any of my consoles. And I tried on another TV with a HDMI port and it works fine so it's not the cable.

So I think it's the HDMI port on my tv, I only just have the one port on that TV. Is there anyway to fix it or is it just a send to manufacteur job?

If it is a recent thing probably to back source , unless you find the exact HDMI board on ebay and are good a soldering...

Other than that you may want to try a VGA adapter-converter if your monitor has a VGA port

Ah the TV does have a VGA port. So I can use that with the converter thingy and my HDMI cable and I'll have HD again?

"Ish " 1680 x 1050 or something similar. Depends on the screen.
Never thought to ask if you have a dvi and tried it yet?

I don't think I have one of those DVI cables.

    Is 1680 x 1050 = 720p?

If the TV is under warranty just phone them up, mate had one of their TVs fail a while back, one phone call and they called out with a new TV as replacement straight away, no issues and very well managed process.

TV's about 4-5 years so warrenty is out of the question but thanks anyway :p

I'm just using a component cable now and it seems to be doing the job so all's ok now.
