Hi I need some help two months ago I noticed a lump on the back of my neck I tried to ignore it and hoped it would disappear but it never did. Last week i bit the bullet and visited my gp she gave me some antibiotics but they did nothing for me. Today I went back and she took some blood and sent it off for analysis the results are due next week they might not show anything and i will have to go to a specialist. I have no health insurance i also don’t have a medical card. My doctor said that it would take 3 months for me to be seen by a specialist if i went public. I could go private but she said it would be expensive just for them to see me and god knows how much to have a procedure done, I’m really worried I cannot afford to go private but i don’t think I can afford to wait 3 months just to be seen either as i’m afraid I left it too long before I went to the doctor already. Always the big C is in the back of my mind. Just asking if any one else has gone through something like this, or do you have any idea how much for specialist I have no savings and barely scrapeing by as it is and wishing this would disappear hasn't really work out... any advice appreciated

I know we are not allowed to give medical advice and this will probablly be locked soon but Id take unexplained lumps very seriously.A close friend of mine had a big lump on the back of his neck and brushed it off as some old knock from training but recently got it checked out and it turned out to be the Big C.

You should really do whatever it takes to get it checked up on fully op regardless of the costs.Trust me its worth it.

sorry OP - it's against the charter to ask for advice on this stuff and NO ONE here can honestly give you truly accurate advice. I am going to have to lock this thread. I hope your health is good and that you are seen by the appropriate medical professionals sooner. All the best.
