Radiators- black smoke?

Hello out there, approximately 8 months ago i got new radiators put in my kitchen and sitting room over the course of the winter the heating has been on plenty and now there is black smoky marks on the wall and ceiling above the new rads, it will wipe off but is left streaky and i have to get the walls and ceilings painted again- does any one know how to get this sorted - i believe they are called convection radiators and are brand new!!

It's more than likely dust.

Yep - I'd say it's dust. Damp cloth should sort it.

It's one of the reasons radiators are often mounted under window sills.

It could be "fogging", a problem caused by chemicals. Google for it.
Usually found in recently decorated places.

The term "fogging" is from the USA where it was first described in 'plastic' homes, homes with a lot of plastifier used in paints, vinyl wall papers, fabrics, carpets etc...
There is no cure -if this is what you're facing - except to renovate again. But this time without plastifiers !
