hi guys, I'm trying to lose weight at the moment and having been sticking to a program with the last number of weeks. I hae been invited to go for a chinese on sat night and I do want to go but I don't want to undo all of my good work ( or even some of it!). What is the best thing for me to eat. I know obviously that nutritional value and calories differ from place to place but in general... thanks in advance...

When I was doing weight watchers we were told that chicken chow mein is probably the best bet, avoid anything with cream based sauces, go for boiled rice rather than fried, hope this helps!

i dont know much about the weight aspect but you can buy a lot of dishes in fish sauce. Chow main is noodles so if you order say a fish dish ask for it with noodles and no harm in asking for a half portion.

Rice and noodles are where you can easily pile on the calories, you could ask for some stir fried veg instead of them.

mmc2010, eat whatever you like at the Chinese restaurant tomorrow night. Have some fruit during the day to keep you sated until you eat - a box of strawberries and a banana or two for instance. Then eat whatever you want at the restaurant. That's what I'd do.
