    heifers in calf or not .i ai two heifers and in two days i saw blood on the tails.i know if a cow or heifer did not get bull or ai then you would see blood on tail in two days but can cow or heifer get ai or bull and have blood on tail in two days and still be in calf . thank you i am new to boards.

    All the blood typically tells you is that they ovulated. Which they were going to do whether you served them or not, all going to plan! If there is blood at the time of AI you are wasteing a straw, but this is not the case here.
    You might know in 20 or 21 days, and if you are not sure then you can scan from about 30 days and then you'll know.

    thanks bizzum i ai another heifer today good job i did not give heifers meal coz ai man said heifers were very tight like your hand in a steel vice and said i must have great silage and to cut back.

    If I saw blood two days after Serving I'd record NIC? (not in calf) in ai note book and watch them for bulling 3 wks later. As they're tight heifers it's possible that it could be anal bleeding, therefore may be in calf. Nothing you can do until three wks, as already said above.

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    thanks blue 5000. heifers should not repeat too often i ai heifers before and i did not have any problems.its just that i was watching this group of heifers more closely and i seen the blood on the tail in two days.
