    Hello everyone,
I need your help- I have applied for NUI Maynooth's psycholgy degree MH106 and I have been called in to write an essay on Saturday 26th March 2011 as part of the procedure but no further information on what the essay is about was given.
Does anyone have any knowledge on what I am to expect on the day.
I very much appreciate your time and input on this.
I am actually a bit nervous of the unexpected.
    Thank you in advance,
    Peter Henry.

Hi OP, this must be new procedure which I have heard nothing about, so I would not have an amazing amount of information. Im a final year psy student btw.

The department is usually very helpful if you email them, the first year manager would probably be your best bet, I think its still Deirdre Desmond. There are also a few tutors that are boardsies which may or may not be able to help you.

My best guess is that the department are looking for analytical, creative thinkers with a clear and concise writing style. If it is an unseen essay my best advice would be to relax and not panic going into the essay.

If your worried about the unknown, don't look upon this as a test but as a chance to showcase your talent as a creative, analytical writer.

I would seriously doubt they are looking for any detailed knowledge of psychology.

Best take this advice with a pinch of salt though, I don't know anything about this new procedure. But I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

    Hello Spence101,
I am very pleased with your reply- I know you mentioned that you have no knowledge of this procedure but I do feel more relaxed now after your reply. Many thanks again and good luck on your own journey.
    Peter.
