Has anyone else had problems with their EPG for Irish DTT in Windows 7 Media Center? I only get data for TV3 and TG4, all other TV and radio stations are showing "No data available". I've reloaded the EPG a number of times, uninstalled ans re-installed Media Center, and even installed Media Center on a fresh install of Windows 7, all to no avail.

Yeh I have similar problems: went into settings, TV -> Guide -> Edit Channels, then click on the channel, then click Edit Listing. Some of the problem channels had multiple listing sources and choosing one and then testing it sorted it for most. Still have a problem with one or two channels but sorted it for the most part.

Yes, it looks like there's some kind of screw up with the names of the channels as found during the channel scan (RTÉ One), the name in the guide (RTE ONE) and the channel listing name (RTE1). Same thing with RTE2.

For other channels the name of the correct channel listing only shows up in the list when editing a different channel, so you can't actually choose the correct one.

I'm even getting some Swedish channels appearing in the list of possible channel listings :)

What a mess. I'm just glad this isn't a 'production' system!

I spent a while going through all the channels and fixing the EPG to work on all channels when I setup my HTPC running Vista. Was a royal pain in the ass.

Then I installed Win7 and was going to have to do the same again - I wasn't looking forward to it. Came across this FREE software:
    http://1geek1tool.com/guidetool
It's excellent - easy to use and so quick to setup the channels.
It allows you to edit channels/guide much quicker than using the Media Centre interface.

On my system, all channels have an EPG except ITV4+1 ... I can't find an guide for that channel!

The lineup in the MS supplied EPG for 'unmapped digital terrestrial' is screwed up. See guidetool output below. SVT1, SVT2 and TV4 are Swedish channels, most channels are missing, and the two RTE TV channels have the wrong 'callsigns'.

I could select channel guides from other alternative lineups (analogue cable, satellite etc.) to fill in the gaps, but the point is that a) i shouldn't have to and b) until recently it was OK. There was a period when Irish DTT was first coming online a year or more ago when we had similar problems, but it's been stable for a while now until just recently.

When setting up Media Centre for the first time, did you set your location correctly?

Yes. There are other lineups that are Ireland specific in the drop-down list in guidetool such as NTL Dublin etc. so the country is correct.

Had similar loss of EPG on RTE1/2 and 3e. Thanks divil_a_bit for guide tool, worked great. :)
3e has still has no guide but I dont record/watch anything from it.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but with that guide tool program, how do you, once your listings have been edited, export them into media center. I'm just a little bit confused. :o

The changes get made to media center as you make them in guide tool, no need to save etc.

So make a change, click on media center which is minimised in your task bar, go out of the guide and then back in and see if your change works and teh EPG shows correct data or not.

To change the EPG source first on the right select your stattion, then on the right choose yoru source, (teh sky digital ones tend to be the most reliable in my experience) and then right click and subscribe on the left pane again. This associates teh channel to the source you have selected.

You have to make a pay pal donation to backup your configs and restore them.

What timing ... my EPG for Irish channels disappeared last night. I lost the EPG for all Irish channels except TG4.

So I had to login to my HTPC and launch Guide Tool ... it was my first time logging into the PC since before Xmas as my system has been rock solid.

I've got all the listings back again and here's how I did it using Guide Tool.

The 3 areas of Guide Tool that I used were (highlighted in the attached image):
    1. Lineup
    2. Channels
    3. Guide Services

Lets take RTE1 as an example ... and repeat for all other channels:
    1. Select "Unmapped Digital Terrestrial" from the lineup.
    2. In the Channels, right click on "RTÉ 1" and rename to "RTE ONE". Now the "call sign" on the Channel is the same as the call sign on "Guide Services"
    3. In the Channels, right click on "RTE ONE" (the channel you have renamed in step 2) and click "Subscribe by callsign"
    4. Optionally rename "RTE ONE" back to "RTÉ 1"

Repeat 1-4 for all Irish channels.

To get the guide for e4, change the "lineup" to NTL and repeat 1-4.

Isn't it as effective(and a bit faster) just to "subscribe" the channel epg to Sky Digital's service?

    Seems to be cured.
