The above metronic product is apparently a rebadged Vestel T8300, of the same type as the Walker and Krystel Models currently ranging in price from 50euro up to 100 - Yet this Metronic claims to be PVR Ready Via USB -

    The question is obvious -

    Can one
    • Buy a 50 Euro Krystel DVBT2 from ebay, and upgrade it using metronic firmware, to allow for PVR functionality on a fully saorview box?

Correct me if im wrong but this should theoretically be possible - i have in the past installed different firmware from different branded versions of the same products.

Apologies for the double post but im also wondering do vestel have a website with their firmware - if not are OEM firmware available for this unit - i know technically it wont be a saorview box but to be honest, who cares with that functionality at that price
