can anybody give me a bit of advice here. I can get some freisian (they might be kiwi friesian) bull calves for next to nothing. Is it possible to fatten them on grass alone and would they be better off castrated?

Yes you can fatten them but the their feed conversion ratio is bad which will reduce your profit from them.

they will be fine feed on about 70 days before u kill them. also they need to be at least 2 years. make sure they have a nice fat cover.
