This, at 100€ is a good deal for an android, but at 80€, its even better! :)

I suppose it is a good deal. But i used one of these during the week, and the screen really is quite small considering it's a touch screen with no number pad. And it was quite slow. It is cheap though so maybe i'm being to critical of it.

But the other one for a tenner is definitely a bargain. I think i'll order one as a spare phone!

    Cheers Zonda!

Ah well its not the last word in android smartphones but i know a few people who have 'em and are getting on fine with them. Its running Eclair (2.1) at the moment, but its getting the upgrade to froyo (2.2) before the end of March, so its still an up to date handset to be fair!

Don't be so sure you'll get your money back of Fatchese. Me and some others have bought Vodafone phones for 9,99 in January and did get nothing until now.

It takes a couple of months to come through. Log in to Fatcheese and see what the pending funds status says.

a couple of months? it's already over three months and we put even claim, but no luck. I'm just saying fatchese doesn't work everytime. If you need a cheap, spare phone, go for that. If you hopeing to get some money back, you may be dissapointed

It's over three months. It was actually December, but you have to wait a couple of weeks before you can claim. So I claimed 6th January and still nothing. But it doesn't matter, I had similar experience with bethrifty (+ vodafone and mymemory) as well. Maybe it some glitch in the system, maybe they keep the money for themselves, I don't know. The point is that it doesn't work every time. End of story.

Just to let you all know, it takes some time but, in my experience, the payments from Fatcheese always come through. Last month I got €47.21 which was a lovely surprise in a crappy month. :D I also got my last full payment of €24 about 6 months before.

Is there any down side to buying this as an upgrade for backup as opposed to buying it as a new customer with new SIM?

I just want one for standby & don't want it to effect my current pay as you go plan.

I'd say you would get it done for a tenner in an unlock shop.

I stand to be corrected but i dont think it does

    !B7U3kPwEGk~$(KGrHqYOKpgEy+jCzWGqBMz1S)CZtg~~-1_35.JPG

Looks to be the older charger that phones like the legendary Tocco Lite used. On an aside, the Galaxy Europa does use the same charger as the Galaxy S

And a usb cable, i doubt it, at this price!

Excuse the dumb question..I know bugger all about mobile phones, but is this a pay as You go type phone. Thinking of giving one to someone who travels here now and again as a local phone to use when in town?

    Thanks

For the mobile techie's amongst us [as I don't have a ****ing clue these days!] can you tell me the differences between the Europa and iPhone 3?

Basically one is €99 and the other €499 [not going buying second hand and want to stay with Meteor]; is it possible to justify the extra 4 hundred?

When it was for €80? I am, like, chasing that web for every day looking for that phone. It was €90 January but then Meteor cancelled €10 bonus for buying online and rised price to €120. Recently (week ago?) they dropped it to €100 but I never seen that phone for €80!

it being at 80 was half the reason this thread was started man. the deal is over now though so your outta luck

Yeah, as 'furimmer says, it was 80€ as a special on St Patricks day only. Who knows, it may be that price again at some point in the next couple of weeks. Its the cheapest I've ever seen an android phone for though, thats for sure

Anyone have any idea what the best value phone is on Meteor at the moment?
Im thinking of signing up to the 200mins and texts and 1gb package for €25
There seems to be a good selection of phones for free on this package, just wondering whats the best?
I have a Nokia N97 Mini at the moment and use it for a few pics, mobile internet, apps and games
