What would happen to either a Police officer in the UK/NI or a Garda been arrested by either. IE Garda arrested by Garda Police arrested by Police Automatic job…

Anyway, the question is this. After watching on telly, A police officer arresting a military officer. It got me thinking?

What would happen to either a Police officer in the UK/NI or a Garda been arrested by either.

IE

Garda arrested by Garda

Police arrested by Police

Automatic job loss ? A good ticking off? Depends on what happent?

It could lead to no action all the way to job loss and imprisonment, depending on whether the officer is found guilty of the offence he/she was arrested for and, of course, the severity of the offence.
