In my 20's, 5'5, 10 and 1/2 stone. I want to lose weight.

I have tracked my foods on fitday:
    Day 1
    1405 calories
    Fat: 26%
    Protein: 36%
    Carbs:38%

    Day 2
    Cals: 1862
    Fat: 32%
    Protein 30%
    carbs 37%

    Exercise:
I would try to go to the gym 6 days a week.
I usually do an hour of circuits, high energy fitness class (involves lots of jogging, jumping jacks etc), swimming.
On other days I would use the gym
-20mins bike, 20 mins cross trainer, 15mins weights.

Have been trying to make changes for some time and I just want to check if all the above sounds good..

    Thanks for help in advance..

Your macro breakdowns are only a part of it.

What types of foods are you eating is very important. Can you list out a typical days food intake? Diet will the maker or breaker in a lot of cases.

    Plus one on this post.

Secondly, have you worked out your maintenance calorie need yet (ie how much to intake to keep your weight steady)?

Thirdly,in just the two days posted their is a 33% difference in calorie intake so something is up there.

Basics are to lose weight you need to burn more calories than intake, a good target is 500 a day difference to target a pound or so a week loss.

Thanks for the replies so far! Here is what I ate over those two days and also other things that I sometimes eat day-day.

Breakfast: porridge and grapes (over those 2 days)

Used to eat kellogs cornflakes, but am trying to be good:o

Lunch: salad, tuna, mayo, sweetcorn (over those two days)

Sometimes- veg soup and piece of bread.
Used to be- cheese sandwhich (but am trying to steer away from bread)

    Dinner:
Day 1: Plate of veg and 2pieces of salmon
Day 2: tortellini Pasta, chicken , mushrooms, leek..

I think the pasta increased the calories on day 2

Snacks: Bowl of fruit with yoghurt, handful of pistachio nuts, Ryecrackers and hommus, sometimes choc rice cakes but am trying to go without- (have been doing good so far!)

Another user on boards roughly calculated that my calorie intake should be 1800! (trial basis for a week)
