Dyeing shoes...

I bought a pair of silver platforms today and would love them in black so I was contemplating dyeing them...
They are kind of a satin material with the usual platform sole, and I was even considering spray paint. No idea if it would work or not though, and I dont wanna ruin the shoes taking a chance.
    Any ideas/anybody tried this>?

    Thanks!

I know my local cobbler offers a service dyeing shoes so it might be worth contacting your local one.

Otherwise if there is anywhere nearby to you that sells weeding/debs dresses etc would be worth contacting as there is a good chance they would know someone who could do it for you.

Hickeys have little disks of Dylon dye that are multi purpose and work on satin shoes.

There shouldn't be any problem - my sister bought me a pair of cowboy boots once for a fancy dress but they were a revolting brown/green colour, I used the dye from the shoe shop and they came out a gorgeous nut brown, the material was real cheap rubber - mock leather type and I really didn't think it would take but it did and they still look fine 2 years later, no washing off of colour or anything.
When I was asking in the shops about what dye to use no-one could tell me and went as far as to tell me I was wasting my money as it wouldn't take - I'm glad I didn't listen to them !!
    Best of luck
