Just looking at RTE News and the 3 million Euro settlement ( made without admission of liability ) to a 27 year old woman for injuries received at her birth in March 1984 .
I have no idea when this claim was begun but the lapse of time seems extraordinary , surely such an action would be statute-barred ?

Time only began to run against her when she turned 18 (although the case could have been brought when she was still a child) - that would have been in 2002.
