    Hi all,

I'm looking for some help with a project my computer-illiterate boyfriend is doing for college. It's a marketing project based on an "entertainment-provider-directory" type website and he's trying to find statistics for the market for such a website in Ireland - as in how many/what percentage of Irish companies might potentially need to hire entertainers (either for themselves or their clients) on a regular basis.

I'd really appreciate any help/ideas/suggestions on what kind of data he should be looking for and where to possibly find it as he's been stressing over this for some time but is making very little progress. I hate to see him struggling and I have no idea how to help as I know zilch about the area!

Thanks ever so much for your time :)

You could view this market in two ways:

    1) The "entertainment agencies" who have people on their books
    who they sent out.

    2) People who book direct.

Big companies looking for corporate entertainment will take either route
    1 or route 2.

As for statistics, I am not aware of any industry body who might provide you with relevant stats. A very rough indicator of market size would be the Google Keyword Tool (set to Republic of Ireland). Research terms like "corporate entertainment".

My boyf is doing market research for his college work too although not in the same subject. His college has access to euromonitor.com which has a lot of stats for different industries. Might be worth finding out if his college has access to this site too?
