I moved to Jersey last week but had to leave the clubs behind due to space restrictions in the car. I'm eager to get moving on membership and to get playing again so want to organise for the clubs to be shipped across. Does anyone have any experience in this area? I know I could organise for DHL or something like that, but perhaps there's something a little more specific that might be of use?

    Now Suprsi,

You'd want to trust the babies into a good organization that would look after them like their own. Could'nt have any old shipping firm throw them in the the hold. Have you packed them well?????????????????

I had to ship a cricket kit bag in november 2009 from Dublin to the UK. Given the weight of it, and the awkward size, DHL quoted me 170 euro.

I found a website called shiply.com, which is a marketplace for people to find couriers. They have an ebay style feedback system. I . In the end a company who normally ship car parts bid 34 pounds and delivered it to my door in two days.

Thats a very interesting site.....obviously it suited them as they were probably shipping something else anyway....................I must really keep those in mind in future.

Heh yeah they're my pride and joy which is why I'm reluctant to hand them over to a crowd who'll just throw them around the place! As it turns out a person in the company is making a round trip to Dublin at the end of the month. Aer Lingus only charge €40 to ship golf clubs so I'll hopefully be able to get them to bring them with them on the way back and as long as I wrap them up well they should be perfect! Alternatively, that Shiply site seems excellent.

I lived and worked in Jersey over 20 yrs ago. (St. Clements), and at that time I bought my clubs over there. They were cheaper that time , it could be an option now, or an excuse for you to treat yourself, enjoy!!!!
