    Hi,

Does anyone know whether a company is entitled to know whether staff are in a union or not?

My company takes union dues from source via their payroll section. I have since heard that they may be planning to use this information for communication purposes in the future (to contact non union members about work practises).

I would have thought they were not allowed use payroll deductions to verify union membership foe other uses?

Can anyone please clarify this for me?
