Contact Prescription Question

I recently got my eyes tested and took my prescription with me because it was cheaper to buy my lenses on line then at the opticians. Heres my prescription.

    R - SPH -4.25 CYL -2.75 AXIS 176
    L - SPH -5.75 CYL -3.00 AXIS 6

I had a problem though when i went to order them on-line. There was no option for CYL -3.00 for my left eye, and the AXIS were gone in tens, so no option for 176 or 6?

My last contacts where from Bausch & Lomb so it was these i went for in my new prescription. But i also searched other manufactures and they didn't have my measurements either!

Any ideas what i should do?

You have to make sure you are looking at TORIC lenses as that is what a contact lens with astigmatism is. Also ye your axis is incorrect for contact lenses. You would need to ask them where you got tested to clarify your axis as when ordering contact lenses it needs to be 10/20/160/180 etc etc not odd numbers

Would my AXIS be the same as previous prescriptions?

    Previously
    R - AX 170
    L - AX 10

Ye those axis would more than likley be fine. If you are in doubt just ring up and ask in the Opticians you got tested, to clarify that its 176 closer to 170 or 180 etc as the axis on the toric contact lenses is very important

First things first; is your prescription a contact lens prescription or a spectacle prescription, and if its contact lenses then what brand lenses etc is it for. Personally I think it looks like a spx rx.

With your prescription there would be a significant difference between your contact and spectacle prescription.

Also with cyls as high as yours even moving it by a couple of degrees would make a difference.

Yup agree with jwabh there. It looks like your glasses prescription you have. Did you ask your Optician for your contact lens prescription? Cos Opticians will recommend a type of contact lens and will do trials with that type for lens with various prescriptions to find out which gives best clarity. With your prescription a 1 degree change of axis can cause blurring so I would be going back to your Optician to clarify.

Did you do a contact lens check up with your last eye test? I have done a scan of one of our supplier sites and there is only one lens from Proclear that comes close to covering your prescription.
