    hi lad

i just got new oil there and my burner wont fire.the boiler has been off for a few months too so thats why im inclining to look to the footcellk

    its a reillo boiler c26 90k model

    its is practicually new aswell

now when i fire the boiler i hear the air but when shes about to fire all i hear is click then before she shut off i hear that click again

ive check and blew through nozzel aswell and there is oil to the burner

i havent look at the burners in years but they are not like the old type of just push in to the side of the control box

when i pull it out of the burner its in a black tubing with the photocell in the inside end, which i open 2 screws an the end and flip this black tubing open

i have the blue and brown wires then and the photosell which seem to be on the end of the wires with a crimp(like the photocell has 2 small very tin wires and are connected to the 2 others wire by the means of a crimp)

    anyone understand;

how do i take of the photocell
i dont want to touch anything im not used too

Where did you bleed it ????????

From how i read your post the "click" you refer to sounds like the soilenoid valve clicking opening, this would point to first stage (darkness)of the photocell being correct, then with the burner shutting down after the click(no ignition) that would be correct as ignition was not proven, so i would perhaps crack open the small nozzle feed pipe at the back of the pump, see if when you hear the "click" oil comes out of the pump, that would tell you if in fact the solenoid valve is opening.

i donr that as you said.i opened it well and ran it and it done the same as i said previous.no a sign of oil of of that feed pipe

and theres definitely oil at the start of the pump

ok billy i agree with you now its an oil problem:D

Having oil at the pump doesn't mean theres oil in the pump.

ok so what you suggest next

check your filter, if you ran out you could have dragged sludge up the line blocking up filter
thus you have oil at the pump but once she starts there is no thruflow.

pump filter check if main filter bad.

i presume you did as billy asked re: the nozzle feed pipe?

From your discription of your photocell i'm presuming your burner is a Riello RDB. The image i posted indicates the correct location to bleed an oil pump on a Riello RDB burner. We need to know it's correctly bled.

yes thats correct.its the rdb.i will continue this tomorow billy.i have no allen key for it and the one that normally comes with the boiler is missing.when i get one and do that i will post up on here.thanks so far.im gaining great knowledge here

Is that not the connection for the vacuum gauge?

    Yep, marked with a V. ;)

Is that a normal point to bleed the pump?

On the RDB it is indeed, you can bleed from the pressure gauge port but Riello's prefered priming point is at the suction gauge port.
