length of time to wait for tax?

    hi all,
    I was made redundant in may last year and am therefore entitled to claim tax back from that year, i applied to my local tax off about 5 weeks ago, anyone have any idea how long it takes?

    you are entitled to claim tax back after 4 weeks unemployment . - you could have sent in Form P50 last June and it would have started the process.

    Fast forward to February 2011 and the P35 should by now been filed by your employer ( latest date been 15th February )

    If everything is in order , you should expect refund soon .

    It is best to register and use paye anytime . - and if application is in order , refund can take less than a week

    I wasnt able to apply for tax untill this year as i was on maternity leave and not technically redundant till january, i sent in my p45 5 weeks ago and registered online also, i got my income levy back within two weeks but nothing about my paye as of yet,
