So Saturday night I lost my bag, with my purse, phone, keys.. all the usual that you would have in a bag.

Rang everywhere, went looking for it myself and no luck. Then there this evening my mother informs me she has my bag in the car, that a shop keeper who was opening up on Sunday morning came across it and upon checking the I.D. realised he knew my mom and phoned her.

I really am lucky to get my bag back, I know it rarely happens. I will be going straight down tomorrow to thank this guy anyway.

Which has me wondering, has anybody else experienced a random act of kindness, when all we hear in todays world are bad things?

Of course there are kind people. You just rarely hear about them.

Glad you got your stuff though. :)

Similar thing happened to me when I left my coat in a chipper because I was ridiculously drunk. Had a phone, cigs and about 600 euro in my wallet. Some people are genuinely good hearted.

wasnt so much the phone or money but just the thought of having to go replacing cards!

il have to find a good deed now for tomorrow, like that film pay it forward :)

Whooooo Hooooooo! Way to go OP!!!

How dare the shopkeeper give you the stuff back? The cunt should have spent any cash you had, maxed out the credit cards and stolen your identity for good measure. Some people, eh?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 234 ✭✭s3129

Well he came across it because there were some lads of another nationality rooting through it outside his shop, and he intervened and took it from them.. which he didn't have to do. So 100 marks for effort.

Anyone who brings 600 quid out on the piss deserves to have it taken off them by a thug imho

If he's really interested, somebody who was drunk took it and hid it and forgot about it, I know I didn't do the best job of minding it but whatever, not entirely my fault.

But this is AH, anytime you post about a night out, it's obviousy everything that happened was your fault unless you were some kind of hero(ine); you were not the heroine in this cause and as such, you were obviously drunk and it was your own fault. :D

Some upset nobody would buy him alcohol tonight and now he's stuck without anything on TV? Or maybe you just got grounded?

Or... you're upset about having no ID to go out and you're actually over the age of 18 but look at 12.

We'll say you live in America, in an area 7 hours behind GMT time. :P

Don't feel stupid, it's not like you walked into the local off licence, ordered and then said "oh, I forgot I have no money on me, I'll be back when I go to the pass machine" :P

my dad n i once found a very drunk but very lost and freezing young woman crying on the street outside our house.... she lost her phone and didn't know where she was.... after a few minutes of getting her to calm down we managed to get her to tell us where her boyfriend worked.. then as dad n i were heading into town anyways for a few pints... we shared our taxi with the girl and dropped her off at the pub where her fella worked.... we brought her in to make sure he was there.. once he showed up (a staff member phoned him cos he wasn't working) he brought her home.

Hookers and hotel rooms cost around 560 euro together, 20 euro tip for the hooker and 20 euro bribe to the hotel for keeping their mouths shut while the hooker's was filled with something else. ;)

A: You're supposed to tip hookers?
B: I lost my wallet on saturday too, no knight in shining armour to the rescue though (well not yet anyway, but i'm ever the optomist)
C: If you found it, give it back please:(

There's plenty of volunteer's out collecting in all weathers to raise money for worthy causes. Not all of us make commission.

Greatest story I ever heard was a bloke I worked with saving two women from the dodder. Then walking home wrapped in a blanket, shoeless. That's a proper hero and a nice guy.

They weren't searching for ID, they had every last cent gone from the purse, and I mean all the coppers as well. and if you are from where I live and you see a few of them rooting through a girls handbag on a Sunday morning you can assume its not for the good.
