Wages are what your employer pays you

How could letting a room possibly affect that?

Dunno I was just wondering because pensioners get more money if they're living alone.

No it wont affect your wages and it would not affect you if you were receiving job seekers.

I know a couple who let the husbands unemployed friend move in with them.

2 years later on,the couple are divorced and the wife is now going out with the fella that originally moved in with them. She got the house too and the hubby now has rented an apartment.

The hubby (now ex hubby) got shafted in more ways the one.

Be carefull when you go to let people move in with you, thats all I will say.

I don't see what him being unemployed has to do with that outcome.

No job to go to,and nothing to do,so he spent "all day" in the house with the "then wife"........

Doesnt take a genius to work it out.;)

He even gloated about it 1 night when he had a few jars on him around in the local pub.

Question has been answered. No OP it doesn't affect you.
