    Hello,

Over the last week or so I've been doing the paleo diet on top of my training with good results (lost 2.2kg in 5 days).

However, I have also being drinking Whey Protein shakes.

Just wondering what the feeling is out there on drinking shakes whilst on the Paleo diet - I know Whey is a dairy product.

    Any opinions?

You don't have to be on the 'original' paleo diet to get good results. There are many variants, try http://www.paleonu.com/ -> dairy is not forbidden. He seems to apply scientific thought to which foods are allowed or not, not only 'what would Jesus have eaten' :)

    ^indeed.

Whey is really crap for satiety too... which means it's pretty crap for weight loss. When I'm cutting I only take a little bit before and after the gym.

Maybe (if your not prone to mucus-dairy buildup) try Casein... eg on some yoghurt with frozen berries. It takes much longer to digest so fills you up. It's a little pricier, but if you get it off some internet wholesale (eg bulk-powders.co.uk) it still works out a lot cheaper than whey from holland & barrett.
