I'm based in D18 at the bottom of the Dublin mountains. I cant pick up any digital Irish tv stations.

Its sold as been MPeg 4 compatible and able to pick up saorview but when I got to tune the tv in I get nothing.

Its just set up in the bed room and if I look out my window I can see the tv aerial.

Do I need to buy something to get the digital tv?

When buying the tv I asked is all i need to pick up irish digital included in the box and told it was!

Can you pick up a UHF aerial in the likes of Powercity or DID? Any idea of cost?

Go to a two euro shop and buy one for two euro. It will work where you are.

Id probably buy a directional one myself - theres and indoor one for a tenner in atlantic homecare - directional should in theory cut down on indoor interference if you point it directly at the mast -

Its slightly more expensive but worth it - although i use a loft aerial, i set up a walker TV last year and this aerial provided Brilliant reception in terms of both strength and quality - no need for an amplifier at all, which sort of surprized me - i think it was around ten or twelve quid

Also in the time i watched it the TV showed very little if any interference from other indoor devices - signal glitches are usually a given for indoor aerials!

Same as 6 Euro aerials and not as good as many as it's only 2 directors and most have 3.

But just as good as €50 indoor aerials :)

Much better value than the "one for all" aerials.

Where are the 3 director versions available? i wouldn't mind checking them out as its always good to have a source - Ive had a look online and cant find any -

Those "one for all aerials" are gas... but i blame the sales assistants for recommending them -

and for that matter why don't "one for all" have a directional aerial in their inventory (an indoor one i mean)

Only expensive ones online (€12 to €15). Check round the Bargain stores.
