unusual Tooth Problem

    I have a very unusual problem, first some backround history: about 3 years about I had my tooth root canaled. Due to the dentist being half blind he made a botched job of it and it was root canaled again about 6 months later. About 8 month later is caused problems and an infection was found in the root via X-ray so it had to be rooted again. This time it was a different dentist who was very good and was able to fix it properly.

    Since then I have had no problems, however I have now noticed that the tooth is slipping backwards and has moved upward into the socket. I know this because my bite has changed and my jaw is very sore as a result of my teeth not lining up correctly. Also my lower teeth are now hitting off my upper teeth as a result. It seems like over crowding but without this tooth there would be a massive gap and my bite would not line up

    Prior to being root canaled originally the tooth had become broken from eating nuts and was repaired very well.

    I dont mind calling the dentist and arranging an appointment, but I just want to get an idea of what may be going on. The tooth is number 5 to my left and is the first double tooth.

    Any advise or structured questioning would be greatly appreciated
