undernorished newborn calf

    hi there,new 2 the forum.looking 4 advice,tips,etc.had ch cow calf a bull calf fri on her own unassisted.problem is calf all skin and bone.have it a bottle at the mo.cow had plenty of silage and mineral during preg.so stumped as to fraility of calf.any ideas?thanx in advance.

    what minerals was she on , do you vaccinate for anything ? was calf born before its due date ?

    she was on nutribio pre calver for the last 6 weeks,calved 2 days after due date.

    is the cow in good condition, sometimes all the condition goes on the cow and none on the calf

    cow in gr8 nick,vaccinated 4 bvd month b4 she was aid.has feck all milk where as she had plenty with previous calves.

    Had a few of them last year and one yesterday. Give them two weeks and watch them fill out with a good supply of milk. Nothing to worry about I'd say, jsut give them time.

    Take a photo now and another in two weeks and see the difference.

    Was he premature?

    Vet says that there's a lot of premature calves this year

    id say ur spot on.got him sucking on cow this morning.took over an hour wif cow up crush.back is broke but worth it 2 c the fecker knocking lumps out of her 4 milk:)
