Wouldn't this be horribly unfortunate?

...if a big junkbag of a drug dealer and his scummy mates held you down and injected you with heroin.

Just think of it...you're hooked straight away, and ensnared by the smack, to the point where you'll be strung out daily.

Wonder are there any reported cases of this happening?

They'd have to do it to you three or four days in a row. Odd thread though man.

Does it really take more than one hit before addiction occurs?

But yeah, odd thread, but sure makes a change from this government crap.

Not sure about heroin but I know with the "Speedballs" apparently you can.
Terrible stuff. No wonder some drug dealers give them out for free initially.

    You've clearly never had a Snickers ice-cream.

You wouldnt be addicted after an experience like that. You would most likely be turned off forever. It would be a very bad hit, it wont be enjoyable in the slightest. Whilst most heroin addicts need heroin at 1st to get away from some sort of life problem. It starts off as a mental addiction.

There was a series done a few years ago about foreign gangs in the UK. One of the gangs was heavy into ATM hacking etc, and wanted to recruit a programmer to work for them. After the guy refused, the gang grabbed him and did a Popeye Doyle, getting him addicted to heroin. After that, he had no trouble working for them. They'd obviously seen French Connection 2 as well.:(

It takes 3-4 days use in a row to develop the physical addiction. You could use 2 days on 2 days off for ever without becoming physically addicted to heroin, and a lot of people try to do that when they start using, just use two or three times a week with breaks in between but heroin is a little moorish and most end up using several days in a row. You could argue that the psychological addiction could happen instantly but in your example of someone being held down and spiked that would be pretty unlikely.

Injecting the dose an average junkie is on would kill you.

Its like what a well know chocolate company does in the 3rd world:

They give free samples of baby powder - Mothers milk dries up and then are forced to buy the formula -

One isnt gonna get you addicted though if the dealer some how convienced you to do it through peer presure then there probably is a chance you could become addicted!

If he holds you down and injects you, well you're more than likely find the experience to tramatic and wouldnt want to do it again!

Have you got references for that? Would you become desensitised using the same method?

I don't have references. It's from personal experience but I'm sure you could find something if you google around a bit.

I'm not sure what you mean by desensitised. You wouldn't have to raise your dosage much if that's what you mean, tolerance wouldn't develop but like with anything you might use more just to push the boundaries in the same way that some people will drink 12 pints when they know they only need to drink 6 to get drunk.

Coupled with a craving for Hershey bars if that Gene Hackman documentary is anything to go by.

Speedballs are a coke/heroin combo. They are indeed horrible **** but one would still not develop physical dependence from a single hit. This notion is most likely media scaremongering and/or rumour and hearsay amongst concerned parents terrified over a polydrug their children will never encounter in their lives.

Nothing causes physical depenance from a single hit.

Well according to some I've spoke to (on the ground dealing with such problems and in the medical profession), they say different.
We'll have to agree to disagree.

I wonder if you were a plumber and got called out to a girl's flat, you'd actually fix the problem, or spend the rest of the day shagging the three naked women who opened the door....

It's not really a case of opinion. There is no pharmacological mechanism that would cause you to develop a physical addiction after a single use.

I'm sure a speedball feels like paradise so I guess it's certainly possible one could develop a psychological addiction if they really took a shine to it.

I think thats the aspect they were referring to.
I understand the physical addiction aspects just based around one hit.
As you say, for some however on a psychological level, it can be very dangerous with these types of substances with some.
