just wondering if anyone can tell me what 'backlight' in this product description means, does it mean when u press the button for the light that the light comes on briefly or stays on until u turn it off again?

I'm using this computer on my commuter, very nice little computer. The answer is the first, it stays on for a little while after you press a button, which isn't so nice indeed (I like to look at my speed while I'm doing a fast descent for example, and that's surely not when I want to be pushing buttons).
here are 2 links to what i believe are the same product, but 20e difference between them!

There's the same, take the cheapest :)

eurotrotter - I don't think Sigma make one where the light stays on. I have had a few different models and they all operate the same way. The light doesn't stay on for too long after the button is pressed. I have never used this function once while cycling anyway!

I have the ROX 9.0 and think it's great. It has a backlight and I seem to remember from the manual that persistent-on versus timeout-on was a user setting - but I could be wrong. Anyway, as above, I have never used the backlight and leaving it on would really accelerate the battery drain.

Exactly, which is why I guess they don't even bother with this setting on this model. In my opinion, if you really need constant reading, you're better off with a front light that throws some light on the handlebars.
