Would people like to see the WGC move around a bit more.

Only with the adding of the HSBC we would be looking at the WGC always been in USA and on the same courses.

Is it time they moved around a bit especially with europe holding the top 4 places in the rankings and of that 1 and 2 are european full time members

Think as long as the PGA tour continues to be the richest tour involved in golf and "thinks" its the strongest tour, the WGC events will stay in the States, money talks i suppose. There should be at least one played in mainland Europe that could move around, play Valderamma one year, Loch Lomond the next for example. Europe does have the better golfers atm.

Better golfers and better golf courses.

Its all got to do with the sponsors aswell. As long as a company like Cadallic or Accenture
are sponsoring these WGCs, they wouldnt be as well known in Europe as they would be in America.
So they would rather have it on in America to get more exposure.

So hopefully new more global sponsors could mean more global WGCs.

Matchplay staying in Arizona for 2012.
Not a great move i think, the crowds there this year were pretty dismal.

Considering that the prize money was as follows at the weekend:
    1. Gary Woodland won the Transitions championship $990,000
    2. Raphael Jaquelin won the Sicilian Open €167,667
There is just too much of a gulf, the only possible tourney that could possibly rival a PGA event would be the BMW PGA championship at Wentworth where the winner gets €666,666, perhaps the European tour should talk to BMW about coming on board for a WGC, there is no better time for BMW with a German world number 1!!

The crowds in scilly looked pretty poor from what I saw on the TV, the leading group seemed to have very little following them, the course also looked pretty shabby but this my have been down to Dormant grass.

This is to be expected Larman, golf is only a growing sport in Italy especially in that region however in Ireland we are more likely to attend any sporting event as that is our culture and thats why we had 80,000 attend the Irish Open over 4 days last year. It is a huge pity that the Irish Open struggles with sponsors especially given the amount of support it gets.

WGC's should be spread around a bit more I reckon. The American Express Championship was in Mount Juliet in '02 and '04 and was pretty successful. The HSBC goes well in China. As has already been pointed out though, money is what matters in deciding the venues. The Americans are still convinced they have the stronger tour but they are kidding themselves. They have a wealthier tour but the standard of golf on the European tour is definitely higher, as is the level of knowledge and appreciation among the fans. If it is decided to keep three of the four WGC's in the US, they should at least change the venues more often.

Yeah course was suffering from a late spring, think they had snow a few weeks earlier as well.

Its the first year for this tournament and its not exactly in the most densely
populated area in Italy. Same would happen if the Irish Open was held in
out in Belmullet in Mayo instead of Killarney. Would be lucky to attract over
10,000 a day there instead of the 20,000 we got in Killarney.

If a WGC was to go back to Europe it would go to a country where golf is a
popular sport like England, Scotland, Spain, Ireland or maybe France.
