    Hi there,
Having a bit of a conundrum at the moment. I have the option to do tax for 3 years as a trainee in one of the big 4 at the moment, but have up to this point been setting my sights on being a solicitor. Im interested in tax, but would I be mad qualifying as a tax consultant and then going on and doing more study? Also would it be doable if I were to study for both Tax exams and Fe1s at the same time?
Very confused and the college careers office don't seem to know anything at all!
    Thanks :)

    Hey,

I'm in the exact same boat believe it or not. Due to start with Big 4 tax in October but had always intended working as a solicitor. I have a law degree but no FE-1s.

I think the biggest problem is security. Given the difficulty attached to getting traineeships, tax route (with ACA) seems like a secure, career orientated option.

Litle help I know, but you're not alone!
