I was rear ended last year, my car was wrote off, of course I made
A claim, Now the insurance companys dont want to quote me.
My own insurance has nearly doubled my insurance quote.
The other driver in the accident was 100% at fault and I fell that
I am being unfairly treated. Is this the norm ?

Have you contacted your insurance company on the phone and discussed this?

The fact that you were not at fault should clearly leave your no claims intact.

Also it's worth calling insurance companies on the phone as online quotes usually won't quote if any circumstances are out of the ordinary.

Why did you claim from your insurance rather than the other driver's?

How is it that the other driver was 100% at fault, yet you still made a claim?

Then how can it be affecting your insurance?

9 years NCB. How low was your insurance before it got doubled?

    Well there you go!

I know a few people who got crazy high quotes - especially in renewal letters - compared to their previously low insurance.
call into an insurance broker, you'll probably get a lower quote and if you go back to your current insurer they will most likely match it.

Sometimes when the claim is still open, it wont quite be decided who is paying what and maybe that is how your insurance has gone up. In that case, you would be refunded when settled.
If they are telling you that its just a general premium increase, you will just have to shop around (although again an open claim might f*ck you up)

I've 9 nine years NCB also, My Insurance with Quinn shot up to by around 200 Euro to 550 Euro fully comp on a 1.3 fiesta. I shopped around online eventually got it down to 360 Euro with Zurich with the same level of cover.

The priced I was getting online with the same level of cover changed dramatically from one provider to the other. The level of cover on some of the highly/better advertised providers can be very poor, when things like NCB protection, windscreen cover etc are added they can actually cost more.

Maybe not: o.k., not exactly €250, but €320 for my 968 and MX-5 isn't too bad for me.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

This is one thing I'll never do. If they don't send me their best quote why should I spend my time and energy getting a better quote just for them to go OK we'll match it.

If they've no loyalty to me, why should I be loyal to them or do their job?

Because their main responsibility is to their shareholders and if you renew automatically they've fulfilled it.

You, like any consumer, want the best price for an identical product, and if they can give it after haggling then you'll have fulfilled that
